Chairman

Appointed to the Board of MTDC on 5 March 2012.

Tan Sri Abd Rahman holds a Bachelor of Economics from the University of Malaya and an Advanced Management Program from Harvard Business School,Boston, USA.

He is currently the Chairman of MTDC’s Board of Directors and MTDC Board Integrity & Governance Committee.

He is also the Chairman of Malaysian Industrial Development Finance Berhad(MIDF),Lotte Chemical Titan Holding Berhad, MCE Holdings Berhad , ECA Holdings Berhad , Prisma Galleri Sdn Bhd , Eastern Steel Sdn Bhd and OceanMight Sdn Bhd.

Board of Directors

Christina was in EY & Priority One for over 30 years serving clients in Accounting, Tax, Strategic & Business Advisory services. She now serves as a Corporate Director and has been on boards since 2007.

Christina graduated with Bachelor of Business Studies (Accounting) degree from Deakin University, Australia in 1985.  She is a Chartered Accountant and a member of Malaysian Institute of Accountants; Fellow of CPA Australia; Fellow of Malaysian Institute of Management; Fellow of Institute of Corporate Directors Malaysia; Qualified Risk Director, Institute of Enterprise Risk Practitioners; a member of ASEAN Chartered Professional Accountants and a member of Malaysian Institute of Corporate Governance.

Christina started her career in Ernst & Young (“EY”) Malaysia in 1985. During this period until 2001, she served in various capacities in EY LLP based in Atlanta, USA; EY International in London and EY Asia Pacific Consulting. Her last held position was Director, Business Development, EY Malaysia.

In 2001, Christina co-founded Priority One group and was the Managing Director until August 2022. From 2018 to 2019, she was appointed as a Senior Practice Fellow of Sunway Business School, Sunway University, Malaysia.  She served as a Board Director of KPJ Healthcare Bhd from 2018 to 2021.

She is currently the Senior Independent Director of UEM Sunrise Bhd. She also sits on the Board of Amcom Nylex Bhd and Malaysian Technology Development Corporation Sdn Bhd.

Christina also serves, on a pro bono basis, as the Chair of Sunway University Business School’s Industry Advisory Board.

Faizal holds a Bachelor of Laws from Universty of Northumbaria, Newcastle Upon Tyne, United Kingdom.

Faizal is the MTDC Chairman of Nomination & Remuneration Committee and a member of Board Audit & Risk Management Committee.

He is currently a Senior Director in Industry Development Division, Ministry of International Trade and Industry (MITI).

Ts. Hj. Mohammad Hazani is currently the Chief Executive Officer of Malaysian Technology Development Corporation (“MTDC”), a wholly owned subsidiary of Khazanah Nasional Berhad, the sovereign wealth fund of the Malaysian Government.

Previously he was the Director of Technology Ventures Division, overseeing the management of various developmental and Venture Capital funds at MTDC. Prior to MTDC, he was a Principal in Kumpulan Modal Perdana Sdn. Bhd. (“KMP”) and was involved in the operations of various projects and Venture Capital funds undertaken by KMP, namely the Venture Capital fund in Malaysia, United States and China.

He also managed special projects, namely, the local microchip design initiative and business accelerator operation through Plug & Play Technology Management. During his tenure at KMP, he was seconded for 3 years working for a Venture Capital fund in the Silicon Valley. Preceding his role in KMP, he was Head of Engineering at OMRON Malaysia

He has vast experiences in fund management, venture capital and technology transfer having been involved in the industry for the last thirty years, both locally and internationally.

Ts. Hj. Hazani is the past Chairman of the Malaysian Venture Capital Association (“MVCA”) and sits on the Board of a number of MTDC’s investee companies. Previously, he sat on Technopreneur Association of Malaysia (“TeAM”)‘s management committee.

He holds a Degree in Mechanical Engineering from California State University at Sacramento, USA, and Diploma in Technology Management from Singapore Institute of Engineering Technologist. He has also received Coach Certification from University of Malaya.

Appointed to the Board of MTDC on 13 October 2005.

Amirul Fares holds a Bachelor of Economics in Actuarial Studies from Macquarie University, Australia and Master of Applied Science in Operations Research from University of Technology, Sydney.

He is also a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) and an Associate of the Society of Actuaries (ASA) of North America. He is a Member of MTDC’s Investment Committee.

Amirul Fares is the co-founder and Chief Executive Officer of Xeraya Capital Sdn Bhd

Appointed to the Board of MTDC on 1 April 2021.

Jamaludin holds a Bachelor degree in Business Administration (Economics) from Wichita State University, Kansas, United States and a Masters degree in Business Law (Executive) from International Islamic University, Kuala Lumpur.

He is a Member of MTDC’s Board Audit & Risk Management Committee, Nomination & Remuneration Committee and Investment Committee.

Jamaludin Bujang is the Managing Partner of Gobi Partners’ Malaysia.

Appointed to the Board of MTDC on 4 October 2023.

YBhg. Dato’ holds a Bachelor of Science (BSc) (Hons) in Town Planning Studies from Birmingham Polytechnic/University of Central England, Birmingham, United Kingdom (UK), Masters of Sciences (MSc) in Information Technology for Manufacture (Environment) from Warwick University, Coventry, United Kingdom, Diploma in Public Management (INTAN), Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Environmental Economics and Environmental Management from York University, York, United Kingdom and Advanced Management Program from Harvard Business School, Harvard University, United States of America.

YBhg. Dato’ Ts. Dr. Haji Aminuddin has served in the Civil Service for twenty-nine (29) years and was awarded as a Technologist (Ts) by the Malaysia Board of Technologist in June 2022. YBhg. Dato’ is currently the Secretary General of the Ministry of Science, Technology & Innovation (MOSTI) a post held since September 2022. Prior to MOSTI, YBhg. Dato’ was the Director General of the National Disaster Management Agency (NADMA) under the Prime Minister’s Department in 2020 and President of Putrajaya Corporation.

Dato’ sits on Board of MIMOS Berhad since 8 November 2022.
