YBhg. Datuk Seri Haji Hasnol holds a Bachelor of Science (BSc) in Urban Planning from the University of Utah, United States (1989), a Postgraduate Diploma in Public Administration from the National Institute of Public Administration (INTAN, 1992), and a Master of City Planning from the University of Pennsylvania, United States (1999).

YBhg. Datuk Seri has served in the Malaysian Civil Service for over thirty (30) years, gaining extensive expertise in Human Resource and Organisational Development, Economic Planning and Management, Administrative Governance, Regional and Land Development, as well as Social Infrastructure Management. He has held numerous senior leadership roles across key ministries and agencies including the Ministry of Education, Ministry of Higher Education, Ministry of Health, Royal Malaysian Customs Department, Ministry of Domestic Trade and Consumer Affairs, Ministry of Works, Ministry of National Unity, and the Prime Minister’s Department.

YBhg. Datuk Seri is currently the Secretary General of the Ministry of Science, Technology and Innovation (MOSTI). He has also served in the Economic Planning Unit and the Secretariat of the Federal Territories Land Working Committee under the Prime Minister’s Department.
